Pours like heavily brewed tea with a short tan head. Aroma is raisin, barley... Dark fruit flavours, berry, raisin.. A slight oxidized-sourness to it. Not exactly pleasant.

50cl bottle. Thick white creamy head. It doesnโt taste or look like a string bitter. Dark clear amber pour. Pretty nice brew though

Half-pint, cask, 5% abv., at The Blackfriar Pub. Amber coloured body. Faint bubbly head, some lacing. Smell of leafy hops and dough-like malts. Well blended malt-fruity taste. Clean and nice bitter round off. Pleasant (London, 06.11.2012).

On tap @ the Haymarket. Pours golden with a little bit of an oily haze and a nicely proportioned head. The nose is like vanilla custard and meadowsweet. The taste has more of that custard and flowers thing. The palate makes it - medium bodied, big creamy texture but an elegant finish. Power with elegance, you donโt often get that. Overall, a stunning ale.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 25/08/2012. Deep gold with a slight white head. Sweet citrus fruit aroma with some grassy hops and a hint of lavender. Slightly oily mouth feel, with more orange fruit and a herbal lavender edge. Unusual.

Half pint, cask ale at The Victoria Hotel in Leeds. Slightly unclear, copper coloured body. Patchy, white surface. More fruity than malty to the nose. Fruit and resin-like hops in flavour with a malty support. Fresh fruity bitterness on the swallow. A decent version of the style (11.07.2012).
