Can from the conbini. Pale orange, clear, low bubbly head. Not much of a nose, minerals, light citrus, not much malt. Bubbly sweet citrus flavor with a bit of toasty grains and a touch of caramel. Also a bit of apple. Thin, spritzy, watery. Bitter, minerally finish. Not much to recommend it.

Can. Why do I bother? Well, for research sake. Light, toasty, slightly bready nutty amber malt nose, a touch of caramel. Nose is thin and slightly tinny. Medium amber-orange, clear. Rather lame lacy head. Fruity, orange and apple, some caramel and toast. Light sweetness, prickly hop finish. Taste is inoffensive, better than the weak nose. Body is light and a bit watery. Not good but I could drink it if I had to. No real lager character, as expected.

Yesterday I did some konbini drinking and this crafty happoshu while cheap at 160¥ or so was not very good with a rough flavor and just slight sweet caramel malt. Nothing really amber or lager like to it. Not worth trying.

500ml can from TBS in Moscow. Can says 50% less sugar. Hurrah! Pours clear gold with a thin white head. Aroma is malt (very light), cardboard and rice. Taste is sugar, paper, low maltyness. Body is ultra-light. It gives the impression of an almost beer flavoured mineral water.

Can. Right after drain-pouring the British version. You know I am not expecting all that much. Kind os strange deep gold with hints of salmon pink, and again a shite head. Aroma is lemon candy, phenols, apple. Not nice. Flavor is worse. Again, nothing approaching what any beer in my life has tasted like. A candy cocktail. At least the body on this is reasonable and somewhat lightly fizzy. But it sucks. A freaking disgrace.

Can. Ok. Got this cheap-ass 3rd category so-called Pale Ale finally, after searching for about 2 weeks. I am sure I will not be impressed, but got to give it a shot. About ¥150 after tax. Nose is thin and watery, with grains, light caramel, and light, grassy, vaguely British hops. Color is a clear amber-brown with a low head that looked nice at first but quickly dissipated. Pretty dark for the style. Then again, what is the style? Flavor is nothing like beer. Candy, apple, caramel, wtf? Not sure what this tastes resembles, but it isn't a British ale. Spritzy and thin. Kind of sucks. I mean, it is drinkable if you imagine it's not beer but never again and the rest will quickly find the drain.
