Description
Lancaster Brewery is a multi-award-winning regional brewer of beautiful beers, born and brewed in the North West of England.

Our beer is available far and wide, in cask and in bottles in great pubs across the UK and as far afield as Latvia and China. Stockists also include supermarkets and off licenses regionally and nationally.

We do brewing properly. No fuss, no shortcuts, just proper old fashioned brewing using Freshly milled malt (milled on site the same day that we brew), whole-leaf hops and live yeast that, combined with our expertise, produces some of the best beer in the country.

Our purpose build brewery has been built to be sustainable with our power coming from solar panels on our roof and all our used malt going to feed local free range pigs. We take the environment and our local community seriously, hosting a series of festivals each year at our Brewery site in Lancaster for people to enjoy.

Well named this one ! Hops dominate it from start to finish, and luckily they are bitter hops, not ones that taste of citrus or tropical fruits. Anyway, cask (gravity) at Standing Order, Derby. Pours golden yellow with minimal off-white head (but substantially dark than shown in the Wethersppons festival brochure !).Bitter hops swamp the aroma. In the mouth there is a very brief burst of sweetness before juicy hoppiness comes thundering in. Plenty of pine resin too, and later on hints of grapefruit and oranges leading to a dry finish. This is rather nice – and more like an IPA than a golden ale IMO.

Loose off white head on a clear amber coloured body. Wet cardboard, malt & grain aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a tingle on the back & cloying aft. Biscuit, grain, lightly hopped & tangy tastes with a bitter finish. Decent Bitter.

Cask @ D'Ale House, Rochdale. Blonde with a thick creamy head. Mildly herbal brew, comes across as tea, especially in aroma. A bit more hoppy in its aftertaste.
