Brasserie des Cimes
Microbrewery in Aix-les-Bains, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France 🇫🇷
Established in 1998
Description
The Brasserie des Cimes was created 20 years ago by an Irish-American, Michael Sweeney, who, seeing the rise of microbreweries in the United States, had the idea to implement the same scheme in France. He came to Savoie for the quality of the water. Michael Sweeney initially partnered with the Routin company, which carried the brewery for several years. In 2014, the company became fully independent.
Since its first beer brewed in June 1999, it has continued to develop its product offering. And its growth, which has been steadily increasing for several years. We hope to be able to make further progress, says Cindy Durchon, Executive Director. The Aix-based craft beer SME sold 32,000 hectoliters in 2018 and is targeting 34,000 hectoliters for 2019.

14/II/2012 - 33cl bottle @ Klaas' place - BB: IV/12 (2012-127) Thanks to Klaas for sharing the bottle!
Clear orange beer, small creamy head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very sweet, oranges, orange peel, some alcohol. MF: good carbon, full body. Taste: pretty fruity start, ripe tangerines, general bitterness, alcohol, little sugary, touch of passion fruit, almonds. Aftertaste: some marzipan, malts, orange peel, bitter ending. Not too bad! I could do some après-ski on this stuff. ;-)

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, pale golden colour with a diminishing frothy white head. Citrus-fruity, wheaty and yeasty aroma with of oranges, spicy notes of coriander and vanilla. Mildly sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a rather soft carbonation. Moderately wheaty and slightly grainy taste with discreetly fruity notes and a present touch of coriander; sweet-bitter spicy and wheaty finish with coriander and hops. A decent Wit. 12.X.11

Bottle: Hazy, no head to speak of, citrussy-orangey nose, wheat and coriander and vanilla underneath; pretty light bodied, light to moderate sweetish-sourish flavour; delicate orangey-wheaty finish (+ coriander). Thin, but refreshing.....
