Bouteille. Bonne.

A blonde DIPA with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with dank resinous hops, light mineral notes, light sulfur notes, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, dry and smooth. On tap at L'autre oeil.

Got in a BIF from TheDoctor. Rated blind. 500 ml bottle into snifter, bottled on 5/17/2018. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, whipped cream, nuttiness, dark/brown bread, toasted biscuit, and dark fruit; with lighter notes of smoke, char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. A bit too fruity/yeasty aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, lactose, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, whipped cream, nuttiness, dark/brown bread, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of dark fruit, smoke, char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate Light-moderate herbal, grassy, peppery hop; and roast/char bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, whipped cream, nuttiness, dark/brown bread, toasted biscuit, light smoke/char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, lactose, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying/acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness. Medium-plus carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 9%. Overall this is an excellent imperial milk stout! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, lactose, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Nicely rich English malt complexity, lactose, balancing earthy hops against sweetness, and restrained English yeast presence. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Bottle: Poured a clear yellow color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry hoppy floral undertones with some citrusy notes. Taste is also a good mxi of citrusy fry hoppy notes with a dry malt base and dry finish with no real discernible bitterness. Body is about average for style with great carbonation. Nice level of drinkability with nice hops floral notes.
