Small sample draft // Fleurac tasting @ Delirium Hoppy Loft // 50/50 blend of black & brown triple IPA, icebocked // (a) mahogany black with only tanned bubbles clinging to the side // (s) the nose on this is pretty damn great but har to describe, liquorish malts, fruity black liquorish drops, hints of liqueur, deep dark fruits, candy, caramel, touch medicinal // (t) sweet liquorish, malt mixed with quite a bit of spices, flavour is low upfront, coming into play in the medium long finish, in the back, sweet liquorish (enjoyable that is for sure) roasted malts, bitter cocoa, dark fruits, black liquorish, chocolate, malt, quite nice, small hits of old wood & playful alcoholic finish that works great, very lightly bitter // (b) body is quite oily // good, not bad at all but not amazing but a good try, desert treat // small sample probably works best, if price was lower, a bottle might be worth considering, not essential fare at the price, safe for a tick perhaps to split with reasonable amount of people

15 cl. draft // Fleurac tasting @ Delirium Hoppy Loft // apparently coffee was infused into the brewing watery / interesting // (a) mahogany black with hints of bordeaux if you hold it up to the light, tanned lambic-styled head // (s) smell mocha, coffee, plenty of chocolate truffles, cocoa // (t) very much like coffee in many ways, not like coffee beer but coffee coffee, interesting, maybe because of how it was made, sweet chocolate malts, coffee, hints of liquorish, slight bitter ground up coffee, nuts, chocolate truffles, hints of roasted coffee beans in the back & inkling of vinous // (b) quite light, almost edging to watery for an impy stout, low carb, slightly oily // interesting due to the coffee nature, obviously nowhere near the regular league for the style but far from a bad one to drink

15 cl. draft // Fleurac tasting @ Delirium Hoppy Loft // same recipe as “L’Amerindienne”, different malts // (a) dark amber with a lambic head // (s) sweet, caramel, gummy bears, candy (dominating), it is the malts that dominate, I suppose // (t) sweet caramel upfront, candy & candy sugar, gummy bears, followed by mutter down & completely contrasting, grassy & herbal bitter hops, slightly linger, very weird & clashing combination, liked it definitely more than “L’Amerindienne”, because of the gummy bears, you know // (b) touch light, near touch watery, low carb, quite oily // weird stuff // had this one again together with ajax25g & Sebletitje // courtesy of Antoine // split a 33 cl. bottle // I should probably down rate this based on the bottle but I will leave the original rating // smells like stale seawater, seriously, no hops this time around, if any the seawater block everything, dear lord, weird & not particularly appetizing, truly fascinatingly weird // taste is similar to draft one, no sea water luckily here, beer is definitely down a notch here from the already not so stellar draft one // not crazy about this brewery, that is for sure, coffee stout was okay but more like real coffee than coffee flavoured, they did use coffee basically instead of brewing water to make it, Octo was enjoyable but definitely not worth the price tag it usually commands

15 cl. draft // Fleurac tasting @ Delirium Hoppy Loft: (a) hazy amber with a lambic head // (s) bitter tangerine & orange peel / american hops // (t) bitter, watery orange & tangerine peel upfront, straw, long bitter, lasting, very grassy finish, not american all, lasting bitter, grassy, hints pine resin & bitter marmalade // (b) cork dry & quite watery, oily, low carb. // lasting grass bitterness doesn’t really do it for me & the oily & watery body, still not bad
