Gushing to towering dense & irregular cream-tan head over reddish dark brown beer with some UFO’s. Fruity & vinous, but mainly aromas from dry UK and fruity USA hops, dark malts and a touch of sweat. Quite bitter head, aromatic hops, bit spicy finish. Main flavours are bitter dark malts mixed with dry hops. Severe, but good. Well-bodied, acidic spritziness from the carbonation. I fear a small, relatively benign but very real infection. Pity, as the beer itself is well-worth trying. Grand merci à Jean H!

Draft @ Moeder Lambic.

Bottle at home in London. Pours a dark, ruby-red-brown with a huge, tan head. Aroma holds faintly tangy malts and light herbal hops. Has a nice flavor, medium sweet, light toast, faint spicy bitterness, very light pine, some herbs. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Mostly malty finish, some fark fruits and berries, light herbal and earthy hops, toasty sugars. Decent beer.

Bottled@The Chriso Pre-GBBF Shindig 2011 "Donkey Dork Lord Edition". Deep amber, close to black colour, with a mediumsized beige head. Aroma is caramel malts, mild roasted notes, some alcohol as well as liquorice. Flavour is big time liquorice, mild roasted notes along with some sweet riped fruityness as well. Balanced and nice flavour.

07/05 0.33 l bottle courtesy of Doggythedog, thanks for sharing! It poured hazy nice brown body with medium sized brownish head. Not too prominent aroma of caramel malt within sourish citrus hops. Flavor holds balance between bitter hops and rich malt, most dominated being citrus and herbs on one side, with caramel, toffee and bread on other. Slightly sourish. Fuller in body with long, creamy finish, that is both sweet and bitterish again. Very good beer, I really like those brews that bridge over huge differences.

Cloudy dark brown beer. Made with licorice. Dry palate. Dry unsweet licorice with a repressed tangy fruitiness. Dry licorice - malt finish. Pleasant tasting beer but over dry.
