Description
Hammerton Brewery is a microbrewery based in Islington brewing small batch beers with the aim to bring great tasting beer back to the borough and also re-establish the Hammerton Brewery name in London.
Hammerton Brewery originally began brewing in London in 1868. Sadly it ceased to brew in the late 1950s and was later demolished. In 2014, a member of the Hammerton family decided to resurrect the family name in brewing. It also brings brewing back to Islington, a London borough with a great beer making heritage.

4/2/2022. Cask at the New Inn, Colchester. Pours almost black with a small frothy beige head. Good looking pour. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, touch of liquorice. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation. Nice roasty bitterness to finish. Good.

0.44 l can, huge thanks to Viลกnja 666. Shared with little Dina, Jadran and her. Pitch black, diminishing brown head. Huge coffee, milk chocolate, black fruit, licorice, spice and loads of sugar. Moderate carbonation, very sweet, also tart dried fruit, nutmeg, cinnamon. Smooth, slick, silky, moderate finish. Too sweet.

Can sample at a tasting at Max's place. Thanks Tom L. Black. Chocolate, nuts, somewhat artificial, sweet, a bit sugary, a burnt bitter touch.

Can thanks to Shaun. Appearance - cloudy yellow with a snow white head. Nose - light resin and passion fruit. Taste - passion fruit, but more orange. Light resin again! Palate - light bodied, dry finish. Overall - decent.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Clapton Craft. Pours totally clear yellow with a modest, foamy white head. Lightly sweet, some vaguely phoney tropical fruit notes, subtle pine needles, pale bread, a little melon, lemon. Light in body with average carbonation. Finishes with further fruity hops, lightly bready pale malts, soft rindy bitterness. So so overall. It grew on me a bit.
