Description
Hammerton Brewery is a microbrewery based in Islington brewing small batch beers with the aim to bring great tasting beer back to the borough and also re-establish the Hammerton Brewery name in London.

Hammerton Brewery originally began brewing in London in 1868. Sadly it ceased to brew in the late 1950s and was later demolished. In 2014, a member of the Hammerton family decided to resurrect the family name in brewing. It also brings brewing back to Islington, a London borough with a great beer making heritage.

Half-pint, keg, shared with Finn at Maypole. Lacing rings down the glass from a fawn-coloured head, black in the glass. Lightly roasted chocolate, earthy, sweet. Taste like vanilla chocolate cake, rather sweet, dry. Soft chocolate malty ending. Nice. (Cambridge 14.11.2021)

Half-pint, keg, shared with Finn at Maypole. Coal black body, naked at the surface, scattered lacing. Smell like waffle, sweet. Blended taste of waffle and chocolate. Has got a twist of roasted bitterness to the finish. Fine depth. Interesting and nice. (Cambridge 14.11.2021)

440ml Can @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Nov 21. Surprise final beer of the evening after Jeremy rushed to get his train (sorry Jeremy!). Thanks Mike for presenting us with this. As if we needed another. Pours very dark, good beige head. Big bourbon nose, some vanilla, chocolate. Sumptuously sweet character to taste with bourbon, chocolate and vanilla all coming through nicely. Excellent BA stout.

Draught keg at BrewDog Leicester as part of CollabFest 2021. Dark gold and flat-looking with a microscopic ring of head. Big dark malt on the nose, some roasted blueberry, dark chocolate and intense almost savoury maple. The maple hits almost instantly and vies with strong blueberry notes to the finish. It's pretty sweet throughout but never cloying. There's a long berry-laden finish. Thick body, low to medium carbonation. Incredible.

Keg at Brewdog Canary wharf. A jet black coloured pour with a lasting light tan head. Aroma is jammy blueberry. Pop tart, brown sugars, toasted malts, some marshmallow. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, jammy fruits, blueberry blackberry jam, mellow roast, lactose, marshmallow. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, light woody tannin, moderate carbonation. Very good.
