Description
Hammerton Brewery is a microbrewery based in Islington brewing small batch beers with the aim to bring great tasting beer back to the borough and also re-establish the Hammerton Brewery name in London.
Hammerton Brewery originally began brewing in London in 1868. Sadly it ceased to brew in the late 1950s and was later demolished. In 2014, a member of the Hammerton family decided to resurrect the family name in brewing. It also brings brewing back to Islington, a London borough with a great beer making heritage.

Keg at Waterloo Tap, 09/12/16. Chocolate aroma, if on the weak side. Pitch black. Good, if not spectacular, beige head. Medium bitter, with a sour edge. Cream, through to a dark chocolate/coffee finish. Subtle. Creamy, velvet mouthfeel. A hint of dryness in the finish. Slips down. Really enjoyed this one.

Bottled 330ml (canโt remember if this is from AbM or brought from London, BB 12/2016)
Opaque brown color, good brownish head. Aroma is toasted and ashy. Light to medium-bodied. Toasted maltyness, dark coffee, bitterness in the finish. Clean roasty, traditional porter. Iโve never found any oyster taste from oyster stouts, same here.

Keg at Brewdog Clerkenwell. A nice hazed raspberry plum red coloured pour with a lasting pink coloured head. Aroma is subdued, berry fruits, airy, little dusty, nice agave note on the nose. Flavour is composed of rounded full grains, oats, wheat, Red vines, cranberry, more agave. Palate is frothy prickly carbonation, rounded, clean finish. Interesting beer and not too weird, I could easily have a pint.

Cask-conditioned on gravity, at Weymouth Octoberfest. Near black in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Enjoyable stout, with some coffee notes, porridge oat creaminess, vanilla and dark chocolate, before a dryish finish. Excellent.
