Description
Along the road to Nismes, a stone's throw from Mariembourg, a peculiar building with a copy of a windmill is visible. It was the showcase of a disco that was turned into a brewery by Frédéric Adant in 1998.
At the Brasserie des Fagnes, we brew around 50 different beers per year. Our brews and beers offered for tasting may change according to the seasons. More fruity in spring, light and refreshing in summer, rather amber in autumn with more body and taste, finally more alcoholic in winter with a tendency towards strong browns ... Yes, there is something for everyone's taste at the Brasserie des Fagnes! Some of its beers are only available at the Brasserie des Fagnes. After brewing, fermentation and aging in the tank, they are transferred to storage tanks which are directly connected to the flow pumps in the tasting room.

Bottle, 75cl corked, shared by fonefan. A deep golden, more or less clear beer with a decent beige head. There’s just some micro-sized floaties disturbing the view. Very berryish aroma, blueberries very evident, with generic forest-berries as well. The same goes for the flavor, which also has some menthol notes and sweetness, and finishes berryish. Medium to full body and a little carbonation. A really special one, nice though, but I doubt I would finish a bottle on my own. (080823)

Bottle, 75cl corked, courtesy of Brugmansia. A hazy, golden beer with a decent off-white head. Spiced nose with coriander, anise and sugary sweetness. Sweet and spiced flavor, slightly herbal with some bitterness, quite sugary. Medium body, dry and fizzy. Pleasant bitterness and hoppy fruityness in the finish. A quite nice beer, but there was too much carbonation in the mouth. Far from world class though. (080823)

Bottle, 75cl corked, shared by Brugmansia. Didn’t really expect what I got in my glass, but still... The beer has a clear, amber body and a small beige head. Cola and caramel dominates the aroma. The flavor is cola-sweet, with some caramel, and a cola finish. Thin and low on co2. I guess some kids would think it’s great fun with a beer like this. Big bottle and everything. Except the beery things. (080823)

Bottle, 75cl corked, shared by fonefan. A quite clear, golden beer with an off-white head. Citrus and some spicy notes in a nice blend makes the aroma. Dry, medium full mouthfeel, fruity and bitter with a herbal touch and orange-peel. Lovely dryness, and a quite lovely beer overall. (080823)

Bottle, 75cl corked, shared by Brugmansia. A slightly hazy, copper beer with a decent off-white head. Slighlty peaty on the nose, with toffee and some dried fruits in the back. Sweet-flavored in a delightful way, with some dried fruits and peat too. Full-bodied, quite effervescent, and with a fruity-sweet finish with a touch of grains. A lovely sweet beer with a nice peatyness. (080823)

Bottle. Sweet apple, coriander, licorice and malt aroma. Pale yellow color with small head. Sweet lemon and coriander flavor. Nice body. High acidity. Reminds me most of a strong witbier because of the coriander. Nice though.
