Brown bottle, 75 cl, best before 31/07/08 via Importations Privées Bièropholie, savoured December 1 2007; eye: popping sound on opening which only means that it is going to foam out of the bottle and…, straw, clear, nice voluminous white head, good effervescence, a bit of lacing; nose: it smells like a Belgian! Yeast, juniper, spices, freshness, light medicinal; mouth: yeast, quite carbonated, juniper, spices, perception of malt is minimal under all of that carbonation, sweety fruitiness, pear, light medicinal, a bit of hops, grain, tangy, finale in yeast where the malt is difficult to catch, quite carbonated, medium body, slight bitterness, light sweetness, lightly oily; overall: correct FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 75 cl, meilleure avant 31/07/08, via Importations Privées Bièropholie, savourée le 1er décembre 2007; œil : Pop à l’ouverture laissant entendre que ça va mousser hors de la bouteille et comme de fait…, paille, claire, belle mousse blanche abondante, bonne effervescence, un peu de dentelle; nez : ça sent la belge! Levure, genièvre, épices, fraîcheur, léger médicinale; bouche : levure, très carbonatée, genièvre, épices, on perçoit à peine le malt sous toute cette carbonatation, fruitée sucrée, poire, léger médicinal, un peu de houblon, grain, piquante, finale en levure où le malt est un peu perceptible, très carbonatée, corps moyen, très légère ametrume, légèrement sucrée, légèrement huileuse; en résumé : correct

Initially high yellow head, very fast gone over brown beer with chestnut highlights. Very sweet nose, excessively fruity, but very jam-like, artificial fruitiness. Terribly sweet-fruity, artificial, as with aspartame flavouring. "Fruits of the Forest" by Heinz. Syrupy-slick, but little body. Ouch.

Bottled. Clear orange red color, short frothy head. Aroma of marzipan, sweet artificial cherry. Very sweet taste, quite fruity.

Draught @ 9th Belgian Beer Weekend, Brussels. Unclear medium to dark brown color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate yeasty, moderate malty, roasted, licorice. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (010907)

Draught @ 9th Belgian Beer Weekend, Brussels. Clear golden color with a huge, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate yeasty, toffee, light malty, toasted, medicine. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Bottle: Poured a reddish amber with a reddish white thick head. The aroma is fruit mainly cherries, not overwhelming. Taste is cherry and malt, not strong and finishes so-so.

Bottle: Poured a reddish brown amber with a light cream brown head. The aroma was a sweet spicy almost leafy smell. The taste was a sweet malty metallic. Nice sweet finish and aftertaste of caramel or sugar.

Sweet flavour, medium to full body, lively carbonated mouthfeel.
