Description
6 Bears & a Goat Brewing Co., LLC (6B&G) is named after its founders (and the mascots of their respective military services). The six Bears are 20-year retirees from the U.S. Coast Guard, and the Goat is a retiree from the U.S. Navy. Collectively, the 6 Bears & a Goat have served their country for over 140 years. While we are very serious about brewing beer, we want to have fun doing it, and our name is indicative of that…it is also indicative of the good-natured rivalry between the Navy and our Nation’s oldest continuous seagoing service, the United States Coast Guard.

The black currant is actually nice. Better than the Trop Hours. Pours hazy orange with ok head and lacing. Some light tang. Better than the regular pale ale. Tangy sour finish with some hay. Tap at brewery.

Some hops and OK malt. About as good as any brut IPA, which for me means boring. Not bad in any way - just not interesting. Golden pour. Bitter end. Tap at brewery.

Nice stout. Roast and some caramel. Pours black with decent head. I like the sharp roast vibe here. Good bitter end. Nice drinking. Tap at brewery.

Czechmate Amber Lager from 6 Bears & A Goat Brewing Company

Makes the whole hybrid between amber and Czech pils work. Amber pour with decent head. Sharp saaz type hops with only light rusty amber type aroma. Crisp end. Makes for good red and I hope more people adopt amber ales towards this Czech centric idea. Would love for this to become a thing. Tap at brewery.

$2.49 can from Total Wine - Gainesville, VA. Pours slightly hazy golden with a large white head. Aroma is dish soap, lemon, light grasses. Flavor is lemongrass, sponge, biscuit, lemon. Meh.
