Cask at The Pineapple, London. A dark amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and straw, as well as a lighter note of spices, leading to a dry finish.

[Cask at the William Robert Loosley (JDW), Wycombe] Gold, slight fizz, small white head. Hay, an industrial lager-like taste, a hint of lemon and then loads of cardboard. Very poor effort from what is normally a reliable brewery.

Cask at Hamilton Hall, JDW. Clear yellow, white foam head. Floral, citric hops, some crispy malts in the nose. Lightly sweet, dry cereal, biscuits, straw. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Crisp, relatively well balanced finish, more dry malts and some grassy, faintly citrusy hops. Not bad.

50cl bottle from Asda, Stevenage. A reddish copper with a fast fading off-white head; aroma of caramel and malt; some red fruit and sweet toffee flavour; and a muddy bitterness to finish, with some rasping alcohol. Pleasant enough.
