500ml bottle from Tesco, Camberley. Pale gold in colour with a billowing white head; bright and clear with lots of carbonation; floral honeyed aroma; refreshing citrus flavour, with sweetness developing - some honey again. Slightly dry and sour finish is a bit of a disappointment.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Straw colour, slightly hazy, creamy head in both colour and texture; acidic and metallic when first tasted with some orange, rather thin and dry, but developing a fruity finish. Unusual, not sure if I like it, but certainly drinkable.

Cask handpull at Pommeler’s Rest, JDW, Tower Bridge. Pale gold, slight haze, thin white head. Cardboard. Smells a bit of stale cereal. Tastes of chewing on cardboard with a bit of an English citrus golden beer behind it. I mean it’s a good beer if you got rid of the wheat.

Cask conditioned at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. A rather flat amber pint with a ring of white head; slightly sweet aroma; biscuity flavour with a trace of honey, leading to asweet finish. For a honey beer there is a distinct lack of honey - for me Wychwood’s BeeWyched has set a new benchmark for "honey-ness" - and this comes nowhere near it.

Cask at GBBF 2006. An orange beer with a rim of beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel, and lesser notes of alcohol and fruit. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, leading to a dry bitter end with notes of toffee.

Cask conditioned at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. A golden, almost flat, pint with a ring of white head; a trace of a floury aroma; thin and watery in the mouth with biscuit and floral flavours, leading to a citric bitter finish. Overall this seemed to be a rather delicate beer, and was probably overshadowed by the ones I’d sampled earlier. So this is a good candidate for a re-rate in the future.
