Cask handpull at Fly in the Loaf, Liverpool. Gold colour with slight haze and lasting off white head. Aroma a bit like a biere de garde blonde. Bit of peach/apricot. Rather good if I’m being honest. Full in mouth, good pale malts and then rich citrus twang on end. Bit of strawberry maybe. Very good golden rich beer.

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm) Amber/orange colour with brief off-white head. Fruity nose with orange peel, mandarin and a slight hint of ginger. Fruity taste with orange, some chocolate and a floral, slightly soapy, bitterness in the finish. Balanced sweetness throughout. Nice citrussy hop character.

Cask gravity at White Cliffs BF 2007. Peachy aroma. Lasting thin white head. Really lovely fruit, white stone fruit flavour with then balanced hop finish. Lovely balanced beer between aroma, palate and finish and between hop and malt. Some juicy malt. Good pepper hop finish. Very dry. Some citrus and a bit of grapefruit.

[Cask at The Monks’ Retreat, Reading] A hazy chestnut colour with minimal head, very flat but not quite dead. A good basic bitter - it smells of hops and malt and tastes of hops and malt. A pleasantly nutty finish.

Cask at The Monks’ Retreat, Reading.
A crystal clear pale gold colour with a white head; sweetish aroma with hints of orange; very fruity and chewy in the mouth with a sweet jammy consistency leading to a subtle bitter citrus aftertaste. A bit like drinking a bitter orange marmalade. Excellent.

[Cask at The Monks’ Retreat, Reading.] A superb glossy dark brown colour with a red tint, with a thin off-site head on top; not much aroma but a hint of malt; however the taste is great, exploding in the mouth with an intense caramel maltiness, the sweetness is well balanced with a toasty dryness leading to a pleasantly bitter aftertaste. Excellent.
