Burton Bridge Brewery
Brewpub
in Burton upon Trent,
Staffordshire,
England 🏴
Owned by
Heritage Brewing Co. / William Worthington Brewery
Associated with 3 Venues
Established in 1982
We have stillaging and cooling equipment, will organise a selection of beers for you to approve and set it all up
For something a little different ask if we have our vintage Morris dray available. It has been on display at festivals and was used as a hearse for a funeral.
Mid-2024 the ownership of the Burton Bridge brewery has changed hands in a merger which also ensures the future of the town’s Heritage brewery.
The deal sees Burton Bridge come under the umbrella of leisure company Planning Solutions, which previously ran the National Brewery Centre in Burton, prior to Molson Coors’ decision to close it.

Cask at Pigs Ear. Near opaque dark brown beer, small and fairly short lived tan head. Smooth palate, fairly flat. Mellow dark malts, a touch of chocolate. Fairly tasty plummy darkish fruits. Light smooth finish. Fine.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 10th December 2025. Copper with shallow off-white foam and full lacing. Nutty malt aroma. Malty in-mouth with citrus peel and a finish reflective of both. Zingy mouthfeel and a light to medium body.

Gravity Cask at day 2 of the 41st Pigs Ear Beer Festival, 03/12/2025.
CDA #1000 on a rating site, although there'll be some in the backlog and likely lost a few in moving over from RB to BV, shame it was a crap one!
Light black with a thin tan head that escapes to the edge.
Nose is dark malts, modest roast, cocoa powder.
Taste comprises cocoa powder, brown sugar dusting, mellow roast, dried fruit rinds.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close with a light dusty hop presence.
Low end CDA.

Pigs Ear 2025. Gravity. Nice to see an old dog piling new tricks. Good roast, cocoa, burnt pine, eart, orange rind, ash. Toothy but balanced. Solid.

This is one of those beers that you're convinced you've had when encountered, but surprised to find you've never rated. Happened to me here. A good-looking chewy caramels bitter, with these lingering in its aftertaste, it has plenty of body.
As it says on the label "A Fine Fruit Stout". Bought from stall at Stockport Market, drank at home.
