Description
It was 1857 when Hugo Bayerlein founded the Bayreuther Bierbrauerei. In 1872 Hugo Bayerlein sold the brewery to a group of investors. These changed the brewery's name to a public limited company and sold the shares to Bayreuth families. In 1965, the Maisel brewery, with its Gebr. Maisel brewery, acquired a large package of shares and thus provided a positive impetus for the further development of our Bayreuth brewery. In this way, the Bayreuth brewery was able to maintain its independence, develop positively and enter into a well-functioning cooperation with the neighboring family brewery. With a large portion of foresight, the managers of our Bayreuth beer brewery and the Gebr. Maisel brewery decided in the 1960s to use our capacities together. So the new location was selected jointly and the joint production facility was founded.

Straw blond, clear. Aroma of light malt. Flavour also has light malt but some light sourness too. It’s watery and quite bland.

Not very special, but a nice refreshing beer to drink if you’re thirsty. More tasty than the usual lager.

Sweetish dunkel beer. Not very exciting actually, the bottle looks nice though.

Tap 500Ml. El color es casi perfecto para un Dunkel como ésta. La espuma alcanza un nivel considerable al principio, para después ir disipándose poco a poco. En el paladar se nota el cereal tostado y una muy baja gasificación.

Bottle. Clear brown with an off-white head. Aroma of caramel and chocolate, spiced bread, earthy and floral hops. Medium bodied, a little bready. Sweet and chocolatey, toasted malts, balancing bitterness, dryish finish. Wholesome and agreeable quaffer.

Bottle, 11C. Pale amber with a puffy white head that laces very well. Aroma is bready with some toasted nuts, grass. Creamy, low carbonation. Fairly sweet, bready yeast. A little hint of sherry. Gentle bitterness. Dries out agreeably at the end with some mild spices. Enveloping, hooverable. In pretty good nick for this sort of thing considering the journey.

Considering this is a lager, the beer has actually quite a lot of taste. It has some modest notes of hops and grass.
