New offerings in malt liquors are pretty infrequent. I was happy to find this one in a 24 oz can in the cooler at the close-by big box supermarket a month or two back. Steel Reserve is sort of the Cristal of flavored malt liquors, there I said it without laughing out loud. In any case I am most ready to sample this one. No glassware used here but I do have a folded down brown bag doing what it does. The smell is true to its name, spot on with an orange soda pop. And the taste is pretty much all right in the sphere of the style imo. Oranges certainly and perhaps a small amount of other citrus lurking in the background. It is sweet of course but not horribly so. I will drink this one down and perhaps have another one someday.

Monthly Beer Share, Chez Sophie in Shrewsbury; 27th February 2023, five guys who love beer. 24oz can from me. I like to test my friends! This purple monstrosity had no head and tasted like berry flavoured bubble gum with added vodka/alcohol. Not a great experience, but it was 'different'!

Massive can @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Feb 23. Deep dark purple appearance, small off-white head. Ridiculously sugary aroma, all kinds of metallic flavourings coming through bringing to mind bubblegum, fruit flavourings and assorted chemicals with a distinct metallic aftertaste. Snapple / Mad Dog 20/20 alcopop vibes. Feel like I've been poisoned.

Can. Clear golden, white head. Sweet grain aroma, slightly sugary. Sweet flavour, grain, low bitterness.

24oz can pours with an odd looking clear cyan colored body that has almost no head at all. The aroma offers up blueberry and raspberry candy as well as a sweet tart candy sensation,. The aroma offers up nice blueberry and raspberry like candy notes and sweet mudded maltioness. The taste delivers plenty of raspberry nuanced blueberry candy goodness with a modest candy like sweet tartness. This isn't God awful somehow. Not sure how.

Another one of my reviews they lost. Aromas are malt, slightly sweet with a touch of adjunct. Flavors are very much like nose with lots of carbonation. Not a lot else going on. Fond memories of my youth.

Pint can from Festival Neenah, 10/22/22. Artificial orange, slightly hazy. Thin head, poor retention. Aroma of tangerine, pale malt. Taste is tangerine, vanilla. Artificial. Better than expected, but not great.
