500ml bottle - Pours a clear golden colour with a small frothy white head that settled. Aroma is floral and grassy with sweet malt and citrus notes. A moderately sweet taste, sweet malts, toffee, green apple, pithy orange flavours with a grassy and hoppy bitterness in a bittersweet finish.

Bottle (from KCM Kivihaka, Vaasa). Pitch black colour, small brown head. Aroma is liquorice, some mild cinnamon, vanilla and a bit toffee tones. Flavour is some ashes, mild cinnamon, liquorice, toffee and some chocolate with mild vegetables (not in a bad way though).

Bottle from Cooperative Supermarket, Hebden Bridge. Reddish brown with a thin head. Rich and smoothish, its vanilla is notable in both aroma and taste, usurping most of its dark and roasted character.

Very dark brown with thin head. Aroma and flavour start with dark malts and dark chocolate. Later the vanilla comes through but not over the top.

Golden colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour are both fairly muted. There's a rounded floral bitterness in the finish but not much depth overall.

Bottle from Cheers Liquor Store, Todmorden. Amber-pink in colour with an initial heavy blast of cherry in taste, although as the palate becomes used to this it gets a tad subdued. Aroma is the same -sweetened cherry.
