Hazy but a little bit dull. Big, fluffy head. Kind of a worty non-alc aroma. Lowish bitterness, vague malts. The Riwaka isn't all that bright, though apparently the beer isn't all that fresh, either.

Haze, pale amber, aroma has some rye, light orangey hop. Moderate bitterness, a bit light, but definitely some rye influence. Hop is a bit muted here.

Hazy, pale, a little dull with weedy hop. No head. Light body, moderate bitterness, touch grassy. Tastes better than it smells.

On tap at The Magnet, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma is absent on the lemongrass, with straw and crackery malt. Flavour is likewise absent on the lemongrass, with straw and cracker. Muted and lacking character. Weak and lame.

On tap at The Magnet, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out gentle cocoa upfront, with light Belgian yeast and some earthiness. Flavour is fairly dry, with plenty of dry cocoa, Belgian yeast, earthiness, and soft bready malt. This is frankly impressive; dry cocoa combines well with the Belgian yeast. If you think of this as a chocolatey Belgian ale rather than a stout, this makes a lot more sense. Very good.

473 ml can. Pours a dark brown with full head. Aromas of oats/cereal, nutty milk chocolate, and a bit of plastic. Flavors of roasted malts/barley and sit a bit of chocolate. Maybe some Dageraad yeast. Odd. More porter-like than stout. Meh.

473 ml can. Pours a bright amber with moderate head. Aromas of fruity dank hops mainly stoned fruit, orange, and gooseberries with pine and bready malts. Flavors follow same but drier and less fruity; mostly toasted malts.
