Total Wine, Fairfax 4-pack: Pours amber with a light beige head. Aroma is some citrus hops, rye, a whole lot of caramel. This beer is mostly sweet, caramel malts, balanced against a lighter hoppy undertone. Aftertaste is a plenty of sugar. Kind of sweet, but not cloying. Easy to drink for the ABV.

Total Wine, Fairfax 4-pack: Pours amber color with off-white head. Aroma is grapefuit, pine, and fairly hefty malt. Taste is pretty bitter, but is also combined with a caramely sweetness. Ain’t the greatest IPA. I would have prefered it to be less malty.

Pours murky dark amber with a fleeting off-white head. The aroma is malty and a bit nutty. Malt sweetness on the front with a little hop bitterness in the finish. Simple and straightforward.

Tap at Sugar Maple. Smooth caramel malt, end of the barrel. Big on the specialty malts, drinkable unexceptional offering. Enjoyable enough, but sort of a one-dimensional malt river. Not to say there isn’t some hop balance, they just aren’t competing. Drinkable, quite forgettable.

Sampled from a 16 oz can this beer poured a murky brown color with a large creamy/soapy orange-brown head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was pine, pineapple and crystal malt. The flavor was sour crystal malt, pine, resin and a bit of earthy hops. Medium length sour pine finish. Medium body. Alcohol well hidden. Ok.

Sampled from a 16 oz can this beer poured a bright orange-amber color with a medium sized soapy orange-white head that faded and left minimal lacing. The aroma was strong floral hops - almost gritty and leafy. The flavor was bitter with a strong floral and fruity hop presence and a tangy caramel undertone. Long leafy floral and fruity hop finish. Medium body. Solid.

Draft @ When Pigs Fly. Hazy amber color with some retention. The aroma is spicy hops and caramel. The flavor starts with caramel and toffee. Notes of rye and some faint herbal hops notes in the finish. Its medium bodied with moderate carbonation. I never would have guessed it was an 8 percent beer, so it does have some drinkability. However, overall the flavor wasn’t getting me real excited.
