Bottle in a few places. Rating done at bar in Yogyakarta. Not much to say on this one - your typical macro lager.

Central Java rail excursion: a small can from the supermarket in the basement of Ramai Mall, Jl. Malioboro, Yogyakarta and drunk at home here in Taipei. Aroma: some freshly cut grass in there somewhere. Appearance: clear light amber, negligible lacing. Palate: light-bodied and slick, carbonation is quite fizzy; finishes with a vaguely bitter aftertaste. Taste: lightly sweet with a hit of sherbet, almond and envelope glue tussle for supremacy. Unremarkable.

Two 330ml bottles shared with AaFK and Magne at BaliBali, Covent Garden, London. Rather tasteless, but okay with the Indonesian food.

330 ml bottle. Pours a bright amber with light head. Aromas of cereal, corn syrup and biscuity malts. Flavors follow same with sweet emphasis on corn syrup. Drinkable and ok if a sweet lager is what one is looking for.

Bottle. The temptation to try different interpretations of Guinness is hard to resist. Black with a good cm of beige head. Fruity coffee aroma with light roast. Kind of gutless in the middle but the fruity coffee, modest roast and gentle bitterness work quite well. I think a blend of this and full strength FXS would be terrific.

Can. Black, light tan head. Heavily roasted aroma with that burnt/ sour thing at the bottom. Some blackberry. Light bodied. Dry with berries, coffee, roast. Not as refreshing as extra stout, not as involving as normal FXS.

Pours a clear golden with a white head. Aroma of grass, low malt, faint hops. Not that bad for an Asian Lager, but there’s no reason for me to drink this.
