Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours clear honey-gold with a foamy, white head. Lovely grainy biscuity malt character, light grassy bitterness, sun-kissed straw. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Dry bread in the finish, more biscuits, husky grain and grass, dirty hay. Great stuff.

Lahev (330ml, pozdravy do Neratovíc!): Literally black, small reddish-brown foamy layer , moderate to solid sweet chocolatey and toasty nose with lots of dried fruits (raisins) underneath; solid sweet and reasonably bitter flavour, full bodied - as expected, silky MF; vinous alcohol-burn in the lingering sweet-bitter chocolatey and fruity finish Dobrý! Another liquid chocolate cake...

Bottle online from Trembling Madness. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: mild roast, coffee. Taste: light sweet & light to moderate bitter, roast malts, light berries, little yeasty, coffee hints, little metallic note. Medium body with tight carbonation. The aroma promises more than the taste delivers

Czech pale ale isn't a style I'm familiar with, seems like it's what they made before Pilsners took over - and this isn't bad, pours a pale amber with a frothy white head and subtle aroma of sweet malt, and a touch of funk. Light to medium bodied with sweet malt and bitter hops well balanced, with some fruity notes and a dry finish

Bottle from Beer52. Black with mahogany hints and a beige head. Chocolate and spice aroma. Taste is chocolate and treacle with light spice and a roasty note. Generally sweet with a mild dryness in the finish. Long aftertaste of treacle and ash - maybe a little too much ash for my liking, but it's still a decent beer.
