Bottle from Beer52. Deep gold with a thick white head and a fizz that is a little on the strong side. Smells lager-y and tastes lager-y too. I don't mean that to sound negative, because it tastes like a very nice lager - grass and light buscuit-y malt and a touch of white pepper, with the mildest hint of caramel behind. It's crisp and clean and refreshing - it's a decent beer, and as an added benefit it's a new region for me. I note that someone's added this as a polotmavy - the name and the description of it suggest it's probably a pale ale made with Czech hops, but as it looks and tastes like a slightly darker-than average lager I'm willing to give whoever entered it the benefit of the doubt.

[33cl from Beer52.] An opaque black pour with a tight coffee coloured head; oaty aroma; smooth and milky in the mouth with a deeply bitter taste of burnt grains; then a touch of chocolate in the long, bitter finish. An excellent dry stout.

Tight foamy white head left a cover on an unclear deep amber body. Cardboard aroma. Medium bodied, soft & sticky. Malt, cardboard, & stone fruit tastes. Poor

[33cl bottle from Beer52, as Albrecht 12° Czech Pale Ale] A hazy amber pour with a thin white head; honey aroma; medium bodies with a honey to taste to start; then a strong herbal bitterness, before a dry floral finish. Strange, but very drinkable.

0.5cl bottle as Czech Pale Ale 14 at 6.4%. it pours hazy golden - amber with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is oily, sappy, sticky, pine, earthy, plenty of zingy citrus, grapefruit, lemon curd, biscuit, grain and cereal. The taste is firmly dry, pretty punchy and raw, big hit of bitterness which lingers, sappy pine, green, grain, cereal, biscuit, bitter citrus peel, lemon rind, grapefruit, peppery spice, soapy florals, slap of booze and some earth with a drying, green finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Pretty punchy stuff. Perhaps a bit rough around the edges, but it has its appeal.
