Golden, clear, dense white head, good lacing
Aroma - floral hop, soft pale malts, soft fruits
Taste of floral hops, soft zesty hops, touch grassy hop, soft sweet pale malts, easy drinking, nice soft flavour
Palate - Light body, soft oily texture. Finish - floral hops, soft spicy bitter zesty hop, nice fairly long tail
Overall - Good quaffable session ale. I prefer this to the average Cascadian Blonde and the mediocre Into The Light. It’s not amazing but it’s pretty decent.

Overall - Not one of Tempest’s best beers

Hazy yellow, dense white head, some lacing
Aroma - Soft sweet fruits, apricot, light yeast, slight peach, sweet pale malt
Taste - Citrus fruits, dab of banana, soft yeast, some spicy hops, touch aromatic
Palate - Medium carb and body, little fizzy, touch harsh. Finish - dry, bitter linger, touch of fresh sweet banana, little bit harsh bitter
Overall - I think this would be better on cask, bit too fizzy.

From cask. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is peachy and light grapefruity. Smooth fruity, light citrusy and crisp hoppy. Bitter and lingering fruity into the finish.

Cask at the Blue Blazer, shared with Stuartyboy. Lasting off-white head. Dark brown body colour. Aromas of dark malts, roasted and semi-sweet. Dark chocolate flavours, roasted, ash-like. Dark bitter fruity ending. Very smooth on the swallow. Fine bodied, easy drinking porter (Edinburgh 09.08.2013).

Cask, half at The Blue Blazer. Dark reddish body appearance. Fair white head. Sweet berries to the nose, like blackcurrant juice. The taste follows the nose with sweet berries to the fore, this time a bit jam-like. Berries and fruits to the ending with a little note of tartness to it. Reminds me of a cider. Drinkable without further excitements (Edinburgh 09.08.2013).

Clear golden body with a thin white head. Great lacing. Aroma of apricot and peach. Slightly fruity but no real complexity - the initial flavour is exactly the same at the finish. Thin body with a very oily mouthfeel. Flat carbonation. It’s not often you get a boring beer from Tempest but here it is. That’s not to say it isn’t nice - it’s fine - it’s just a bit dull and one dimensional.

Re-rate from 500ml bottle, Appellation Wines. Better from the bottle, got some pepper-spice to it. Still finishes a bit sweet. Keg at the Hanging Bat. Good hazy amber, good whitehead. Lacks the spice and yeast notes I’d want from a saison, also doesn’t finish quite dry enough. Soapy. Strange. 2.9

Cask at The Hanging Bat. Pours a clear gold with thin white head. No carbonation, and a bit warm. Diacetyl/butterscotch on the nose. Surprisingly sweet finish. A rare dud from these guys, as their beers are usually top notch.
