Bottle. Strong molasses malt and hay aroma - nice. Opaque black-brown color with small head. Slightly sweet chocolate malt and lightly bitter herbal hops flavor. Pretty good - a bit on the light side.

Swing-top bottle. Strong banana, orange, clove and wheat malt aroma - very nice. Cloudy yellow-amber color with large white head. Sweet banana, moderately bitter clove and wheat malt flavor. Medium body - finishes on the light side. A bit light but overall very good.

Swing-top bottle. Honey, orange, barley malt and sour milk aroma. Hazy amber color with moderate head. Honey orange and barley malt flavor with a mild sour milk finish. Nice body. Tasty.

bottle from Drinks of the World Basel, courtesy of Allen. Clear, perhaps slightly hazy golden colour, mid-sized white head. Malty nose. Hoppy, dry, dusty and rather sharp hoppy mouthfeel. Good.

draught at Lällekönig Basel with Allen. Deep black colour, mid-sized beige head. Sourish-malty nose. Malty base with hints of blackcurrant and blackberries, but most of all walnut and walnut peel. Slightly sour. Interesting and full of its own character.

Bottle. It’s a hazy dark golden beer with a finger-thick, cramy off-white head. The aroma has nuts and toffee, with some dried fruits as well. There’s some wet cardboard in the flavor, but just a tad. Dried fruits, hazel nuts and hints of bitterness too. Medium body, pleasant co2 level. A drinkable beer indeed, but offers nothing extra. 100108
