The LHG Brewpub is an independent brewery and bar in the centre of Bristol.

We opened the doors to our brewpub on 13th June 2019, with the aim to create a beating heart at the centre of our business. A place for us to engage and interact with the people who drink our beer, and shorten the distance between production and glass. Our Brewpub was crowdfunded, with 1500 people investing in our small company. We are incredibly proud to be the custodians of a site that has over 250 years of brewing history within its walls.

Can at home picked up from LHG online. . A mostly clear golden yellow coloured pour with a fine white head. Aroma is nice fresh white grape, melon, jasmine tea, light bready grains, light waxy citrus. little hockey puck. Flavour is composed of light bready grains, straw, white grape, melon, light mineral, tea leaves, crisp finish. Palate is crisp, light grains, highish spritzy carbonation.

Can at home picked up from LHG online. A clear golden yellow colourd pour with a sticky white head. Aroma is earthy grains, straw, grassy hop, cut grass, nettle, fresh hops. Flavour is composed of light bready grains, grass, lemon citrus, firm grassy hop bitterness, light herbal notes. Crisp finish. Palate is light grains, crisp finish, fine carbonation. Good overall.

Can at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours almost black with a small beige head. Aroma is strongly chocolate with some smoky hints. In the mouth there’s a brief burst of initial sweetness and milk chocolate, before it becomes strongly bitter with cocoa nibs and coffee grounds. Flavour also has ginger and parkin. Subsequent tasting varied randomly between sweet and bitter. It’s nice enough but didn’t really live up to expectation – a bit all over the place really.

3.3% can. Appearance is hazy golden, with a 1-finger foamy white head. Aroma is citrus fruit, pineapple, hoppy fruit, grapefruit, tropical fruit hints. Taste is fruity hops, malty wheaty background, smooth mango, pineapple, hints of orange.

440ml can from House of Trembling Madness. Hazy orange gold colour, bubbly white foam head and aroma of mango, citrus, hop resins. Taste is malt, caramel, mango, juicy orange citrus, pine and resiny hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy bitter finish. Very drinkable.

Cask-conditioned at the LHG Brewpub, Bristol 15/12/2022. Near black in colour, with a frothy, beige, head. Rich chocolate notes, some toastiness, tobacco character and liquorice, leading to a smooth finish. Excellent.

Deep, dark brown with a frothy tan head and a lovely roasted malt aroma with hints of coffee. Medium bodied and smooth with roasted malt, coffee and a hint of liquorice, dry bitterness and some dark fruits coming through
