Description

Red amber, creamy light beige head. Aroma of pears, blackcurrants and a little grass. Alcohol is fairly well disguised. Honey and clove fruits with a yeasty mouthfeel and some astringency. A nice, balanced drop, but there are no hidden depths.

Draft. Ginger Man, NYC. Dark brown body with a frothy, off-white head, slowly diminishing. Moderate aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, caramel, dark fruit and mold. The flavor is light to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, creamy texture and lively carbonation. A bit unclean, but a pleasant enough beer with its sweet fruit to begin and nice bitter bite in the finish.

Bottle (excavated by Quack-Duck!) Ruby - indeed - amber coloured, lively carbonation, small white foamy layer; sweet, perfumed nose (candies and bubble-gum), traces of elderberries, too, but no traces of beer; sticky MF, sweet, cloying, flavour; short weet fruity finish with a little tartness in the aftertaste. Lang lebe das deutsche Reinheitsgebot........

Pours into a chalice with a decent head, light amber colour and plenty of carbonation with bubbles on the side of the glass. Has nice lacing as well. Smells softly like beer and some vague hints at fruit, some maltiness in there as well. Taste is a mix of malts, grains, and fruity notes. Has a crisp dry finish. A nice ale, not too complex, good for sipping.

Poured into a chalice, nice brown-amber colour and a big head, though it’s not too thick. Aromas are fruits and hops. Taste seems slightly tinny, a bit of grain, sweet finish. Just okay, not my favourite Leffe.

Bottle. Pours a nice orangish gold with a big head. Aromas are not the strongest asset of this beer, though. A muddled mix of grass, skunky hops and maple syrup are all I can pick up. Flavor is borderline cloying with all the sticky maple syrup and a little bit of sweet orange fruit. Skunky hops and mild grass do come through, but don’t balance out the overly sweet malty notes.
