Can from Total wine and More in Houston enjoyed in the hotel room. Lightly hazy deep gold color with a huge frothy off white head that persists. Bready light wet cardboard and a lemony something going on lightly tart. This needs work.

From a pint can. Pours a a clear pale gold with big white head. Aromas of grains and white bread. Flavors are surprisingly bitter, in a good way.

From a can filled 4+ months ago. Pours a hazy gold with an off white head. Aromas are of topical fruit and tangerines. Flavor is slightly tart, maybe from age, and not very hoppy.

On tap @Jaxon Beer Hall, downtown Dallas during the recent ice over. Clear, plastic pint glass. Murky brown, melted oatmeal head. Toasted dark bread, charred brown sugar nose. Super toasty, earthy char, dusty yeast, bittersweet leaning bitter, with a veggie overdoneness mixed in with some caramel. Too heavy for a basic bitch Bock.

Tall boy from Lone Star Beverages. Frothy, gold, just a bit jellied. Buttery grain, sweet lettuce, golden raisin, Perrier. Taste is dusty, yeasty bread. Minerally, watered down citrus, margarine, earthy, bit of salt, barely bittersweet finish. Light & inoffensive.

Information on this beer was taken totally from labeling on the can. So it appears that the 2020 edition is bourbon barrel aged with an ABV of 11.0%. My observant son spotted the last 16 oz can at a Total Wine in Houston and brought it home for us to sample. We're both using snifters and with a pour I see a black-as-black-can-be body with a minute circle of taupe-tan bubbles. I smell chocolate, coffee and grain. The taste, now here we go, is chocolate fudge, strawberries, bourbon, wheat bread and toffee. We were both a bit surprised how much we like it.
