A hint darker than golden, just the slightest bit of haziness. Low to medium sized white head, good enough retention and lacing. A nicely fresh aroma: grainy malty base with hints of hay, a bit of something sweeter in the back (honey?), fresh herbal/grassy notes, a bit of apple-like fruitiness; though mainly a fresh-feeling aroma, it also has a slight warming touch. Taste doesn't fully live to expectations: taste notes more or less as per aroma, but not as fresh in feeling. Ok taste definition, but a bit of syrupy/sticky sweetness in finish/aftertaste. Sweet/bitter balance is still fine on the whole. Medium body, slightly below medium carbonation, ok drinkability for style and abv. Very much ok, but I've had much better stuff from this brewery.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass deep golden, nice head. Starts fine malty-spicy, light alcoholic. Herbal-grasy notes in the background. Finish well balanced, spicy-malty. Quite drinkable. Nice one!

Flaska från Bierothek. Klar mörkt gyllenfärgad vätska med medelhögt skum. Riktigt bra kropp med stor brödiga aromer och smaker. Smak av ljuvligt mjölig bröd med lätt beska. Mycket gott

Cloudy amber with a foamy disappearing head. Lemon juice, unripe banana, banana peel, estery notes, caramel. Intense dry sourness. Medium bodied, oily texture, lively carbonated, dry sour finish. Something is certainly wrong here.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours golden with a small, white head. Malty nose. Rather solid body with an intense and sweet maltiness and just sufficient balancing hops. 020326

50cl Fles van De Bierkoning. Mistiggouden kleur, witte kraag. Licht moutig, bloemig, cakebeslag, citroenrasp, zacht honingzoetje met een mooie strakke grassige bitterheid, iets herbaal. Lichte body, zacht mondgevoel. Heerlijke pils, had hier meer van moeten halen.

Deep gold with a frothy, white head. Grassy aroma. Bitter with a peppery spice at the finish. Nicely hopped with a malt profile that’s subdued compared with the recent Winter Märzen that I‘ve sampled. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Not particularly a Christmas feel from the spice, this would also do quite well on a hot summer day. Good one.
