On tap at GTOM. Pours a cloudy orange ruby with medium pinkish white head. The aroma is wheat, dough, strawberry seed. Slick body, tart strawberry, wheat, earth, light finish, very good.

Tap. Pours hazy hazel, small beige head, decent lacing. Aroma is huge peated scotch. Flavor is peaty, scotch, malty, smoky, medium sweet, light bitter. Gud. Medium body.

Taster at Orange & Brew, a collaboration with them. Scent is nice and rich with coffee and sweet stout notes, with bourbon as a sidecar. Sample is pitch black, with a bit of a ring or bits of tan foam around the edge. The taste is quite mellow. Not too sweet, not too bitter, with the bourbon making its appearance first. Coffee taste is light, and there is no harsh malt roastiness. Very easy drinking considering its alcohol strength.

My first Imperial Oak beer! On draft at the Cellar Door. Obviously not one of their imperial beers. And surprisingly, I really can’t get behind this one. Smell has a bit of fruit-flavored wine to it. The beer is a bit purplish and opaque. Taste… well, it’s just sourness. I am trying to catch the blueberry in here, but the dominant taste after sour is a bit of oak foudre wood.Any fruit added to this has totally fermented out. I’m giving this points for hewing to the style, but it really lacks any extra dimension that would have made this distinctive.

375ml bottle from the brewery. Thin, fading, white head met by fast rising carbonation bubbles. Translucent, clean, filtered yellow-orange-tan body. Deep, juicy brett tones. Lacto tones are cheesy and thick too. Funky and a little out there, this is more of a slow sipper vs. a refreshing pounder. In other words drinks a little heavier than the 4.5% would suggest. A little out of control with the yeasts, but a fun beer to try.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear straw yellow with head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has lots of straw and grain notes. Flavor has straw and grains with a bit of hay backing.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a near clear orange gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has citrus and tropical fruits with sweet grains and grass underlying. Flavor has a good amount of citrus with a light bitterness and a sweet grain backbone.
