Description
We focus our attention on brewing rustic, unfiltered, aromatic beers that are approachable and unique. We pull from our home brewing background to build beers that pay homage to tradition, but break new ground in American brewing techniques and flavors by blurring the line between beer and wine. We are brewers of big ideas in very small batches.

Draft @ the source. Pale hazy gold. Aroma is grain, peppery yeast and hints of fruitiness. Very drying texture on the tongue but nice flavors of doughy yeast, tart fruit that has a strong lemon character. Light and refreshing and could be drank in large amounts. (with some water to help between rehydrate) I can see myself sitting in the California sun and absorbing this brew. Nice

Poured from a bottle. Aroma is fairly blueberry forward with a light jamminess. Light citrus and medium light oak notes with some white wine tannins. Hints of tropical funk, acidity and barnyard funk. Pours a cloudy purple pink with a small, thin, slightly off white head that quickly recedes. No lacing and no legs. Flavor is somewhat acidic with light citrus and tropical fruit. Moderate blueberry character with slight jamminess. Light oak and wine tannins. Medium light bitterness. Definitely blueberry forward. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a really nice beer with a good blueberry character. Some nice secondary barrel character with a hints of oak. Light Brett notes also add complexity. Not much underlying grain character.

On tap at the brewery. Aroma is fairly fruity with quite a bit of grapefruit juice and other citrus. Lighter pineapple and faint stone fruit. Light wheat and faint cracker malt notes. Pours a cloudy, pale gold with a small, thick white head that recedes to a thin film that lingers. Moderately high lacing and small legs. Flavor is faintly sweet other medium light wheat and light cracker malt notes. Moderate bitterness with medium high hop character. Moderately strong grapefruit and citrus notes with light pineapple and stone fruit. Balanced pine resin and hop spice round out the fruit. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and creamy with moderate carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice IPA from SARA but still not one of my favorite IPAs. It doesn’t quite hit the level of fruit that I hope to see.
