Description
We focus our attention on brewing rustic, unfiltered, aromatic beers that are approachable and unique. We pull from our home brewing background to build beers that pay homage to tradition, but break new ground in American brewing techniques and flavors by blurring the line between beer and wine. We are brewers of big ideas in very small batches.

Big nelson, which is good for me but somehow takes away from the crispness here. Pours clear golden with ok head. Tap at Dominion.

Poured from a 500 ml.bottle.
Aroma is fairly fruity with grape and grape must notes. Some lighter lemon and under ripe stone fruit. Hints of melon and papaya. Light oak notes and a light alcohol note. A touch floral
Pours a hazy, pinkish, reddish orange with a small, moderately thick, frothy, white head that recedes quickly to the edges and disappears. No lacing or legs.
Flavor is somewhat sweet with light grain notes. Medium bitterness and medium light alcohol notes. Lots of fruity grape flavor with some grape must as well. Light melon, stone fruit and lemon notes. Medium light oak notes.
Mouthfeel is medium full.bodoed with medium low carbonation. Medium low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a solid grape saison lots of wine-like notes in the aroma and flavor. Could use a bit more SARA funk to balance out the grape sweetness.

Tap at Ambasada. Bit hazy golden body, off-white head. Piles of resin, bit of minerals in the slightly malty pungent aroma. Lean, dry taste, herbs and resin, lightly citric, bit subdued, very low matches, trace stone fruit, higher carbonation. Naaaah man... not to SA standards.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle.
Aroma is fruity with white wine notes, stone fruit, grapes, some citrus and hints of tropical fruit. Light cracker malt notes and hints of oak and alcohol. Light herbal, earthy funkiness with a touch of a grassy note.
Pours a hazy, slightly murky, golden-orange color with a medium sized, fairly thick, pillowy, white head that recedes quickly to the edges where it lingers. Light lacing and small legs.
Flavor is a bit acidic with light cracker malt notes. Moderate bitterness and light alcohol notes. Moderate vermouth notes with some green grape, stone fruit, tropical citrus and a bit of an herbal, grassy note. Light earthy, herbal, peppery phenolics notes. Faint oak notes.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a really nice barrel-aged saison. The SARA funk works well with the vermouth notes. A bit acidic, but not overly so and it works with the rest of the beer. I like vermouth so this beer is right up my alley.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle.
Aroma is malt forward with layers of caramel and toffee, lighter toasted bread and nut notes. Some burnt sugar and lighter chocolate notes. Medium light bourbon and alcohol notes with hints of oak. Light dried fruit notes.
Pours dark brown, almost black with a medium small, moderately thick, light mocha head that recedes fairly quickly to the edges where a small film lingers.
Flavor is a bit sweet with loads of caramel and toffee notes. Lots of burnt sugar nland dark caramel notes. Lighter notes of chocolate and toasted bread. Moderate bitterness and medium alcohol notes. Medium light bourbon notes and lighter oak.
Mouthfeel is full bodied with medium low carbonation. Medium low astringency and medium alcohol warmth.
Overall, a solid barleywine. Lots of malt complexity with nice caramel and toffee notes. The burnt sugar notes are a bit too strong, especially in the flavor adding some bitterness and astringency. Bourbon notes were lighter than I was expecting, but nice.
