Description
We are a Cooperative Brewery in Belfast owned and run by our members. Opening our doors in 2014, we are the first brewery in NI to bring together modern US styles with the more traditional Belgian/French style beers.

They’ve been leading the way in their native Northern Ireland, specialising in excessively hoppy Pale Ales, decadent Stouts and barrel-aged Sours and Saisons. Utilising the legendary Simpson’s Malt, a broad variety of American hops and all yeasts great and small Boundary beer is always of the highest quality, full of exciting flavours and packaged in beautiful cans.

Keg at Hippo Tap Room. It pours hazy reddish - amber with a thick off-white head. The aroma is musty, dirty, musty, manure, slurry, farmyard, hay, raspberry and spice. The taste is dry, tart, strawberry laces, raspberry, white wine, gooseberry, sherbet, granny smith apple and sherbet with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Tastes rather nice, but the taste is pretty filthy (loads of manure). Clip a peg on your nose and you will enjoy it!

Keg at Hippo Tap Room. It pours jet black with a thick tan head. The aroma is rich roasted maltage, chocolate, rocky road, vinous, funky farmyard, brett, jammy berry, fruit compote, raspberry and cherry jam. The taste is tart and vinous upfront, raspberry, red grape skin, blackberry, cherry, plum, funky, granny smith apple, them some roast and cacao with a smooth, fruity finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Great vinous and funky berry character. Not usually a massive fan of sour stouts, but this is really works. Probably the best Northern Irish beer I have ever had.

On keg at the Bow Bar. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn crema head. Nose - balsamic, edge of chocolate too. Fermenting black fruits. Taste - blackberry, balsamic and then incredibly a sweet chocolate finish. Wood is the general back drop. And sherry oxidation. Palate - close to medium bodied with a tangy texture! There is a long dry finish but then it gets sweet on the end. And the sourness slowly returns. Overall - an anomaly, a one off. It starts sour but finishes with a sweet chocolate stout note. Ok so sourness returns. Braw! I’d be impressed if you could do that again.

On keg at the Bow Bar. Appearance - golden amber with a decent head. Light haze. Nose - dried orange peel, intense apricot. Light spice. Taste - tonnes of dried orange, resin, orange liqueur. Boozy, edging into barley wine notes but fresh zesty orange finish puts it straight back in Imperial IPA territory. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - a very well executed Imperial IPA. LoOK out Cloudwater.

On keg at the Bow Bar. Appearance - very pale yellow with a haze and attractive lacing. Looks like a wit. Nose - pineapple and grapefruit. Sorbet-esque. Taste - more sorbet, definitely down the grapefruit side but sweeter. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - really enjoyable.
