An almost clear one, golden in color and with a small, dense, off-white head. The aroma is rather fruity, with tropical fruits and pine cones. Some citrus zest and a touch of malts. The bitterness is nice at first, but turns out to be sort of harsh. Tropical fruits, pine cones and a touch of pale malts in the flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation. Lasting fruity finish with a pleasant bitterness in the very end. Quite nice, but far from fantastic. 141219

Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, citrus, orange and hint of caramel. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long orange and citrus finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Draft at Olympic, from notes. Coffee and chocolate dominate with hints of dark fruit and caramel as the backbone. Pretty good.

Draft at Standard Market, June. Cloudy amber color, a spongy head just a pinky finger wide. The PNW hops can be easily detected while the glass is still on the counter, growing in orange citrus character. Nose has more fresh hops up close. Taste is an upfront punch of orange juice and pine needles, and heavily bitter. More prickly carbonation. The strong hop palate remains as an afterburn.

Location: Draft at Blue Frog's Local 22, 6/23/14
Aroma: This beer has a spicy rye bread aroma, some decent hops, and a little toffee
Appearance: This one has a dark reddish pour, murky, with a beige head, and some plus lace
Flavor: Tastes fairly spicy up front, with a light-medium sweetness, and a medium bitter finish
Palate: It has a medium body, a spicy tingle, average-plus carbonation, and a long duration
Overall Impression: This was a pretty tasty collaboration from two breweries that I'm not all that familiar with. Maybe too much spice. Nice beer though.

Location: Draft at Au Cheval, 6/10/14
Aroma: The nose is pretty much right on-style, with Belgian yeast, spice, and plenty of hops
Appearance: It pours a somewhat hazed golden-orange color with an average sized head
Flavor: The taste is much the same as the nose, it is full of yeast/spice and some hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a decent mouthfeel, some decent spice, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: My first rating from Buckledown! I'm racking up the Chicago breweries at the best speed I can. Anyway, overall, I thought this was a pretty nice and on-style example of a Belgian IPA. I could and I would drink this again.

Can’t explain why I like this so much better than the first poster, but to each our own. Draft taster at Standard Market today. Clear golden yellow under a stiff head. Smell has basically piny hop, a bit of floral note as well. Taste builds on the pine hoppiness adding a note of grapefruit and some big bitterness that still works well with the lighter malt profile. Welcome as a sessionable hop bomb.
