About
Epli Sideri si historie starta tilbake i 2015 då dei to brødrene Kristian og Karl Magnus starta å lage eplemost og sider på familiegarden på Sekse i Hardanger. Dei to brødrene danna då selskapet Hardangergutane. Kort tid etter oppstart kom kona til Kristian, Inger, inn i selskapet. Det heile starta på låven i den gamle driftsbygningen på familiegarden på Sekse kor brødrene begge er vokst opp. Etter nokre år vaks Hardangergutane ut av driftsbygningen, og flytta inn i eit større lokale i eit gammalt fruktlager på Børve. (Ullensvangvegen 1525) Inger og Kristian kjøpte i 2021 ein ny og større gard på Sekse kor dei på kort tid har gjort eit omfattande arbeid med å plante opp nye frukthager, samt at dei også etter kort tid starta å planlegge bygging av nytt produksjonslokale.
I 2023 valgte Karl Magnus å gå ut av selskapet og Inger og Kristian tok over drifta. Sommaren 2024 går Hardangergutane inn i ein ny og spennende epoke kor produksjonen blir flytta tilbake på Sekse i nye og meir tilpassa lokale. Summen av desse endringane gjorde at vi hadde ønske om å skapa ein tydeligere identitet, og navnet Epli Sideri såg dagens lys.

Bottle, 75cl. A well sparkling, clear pinkish golden colored cider with some bubbles on top. The aroma is apple driven, with a light berry touch. Herbal, grassy and lightly woody hints too. It's quite effervescent on the palate, medium bodied and not too sweet, with apple doing most of the flavor work. There's some red berries, grass and herbal notes too. Medium length finish with apple, berries and a herbal touch. A bit dull this one, but as it gets a bit warmer than fridge cold, it opens up slightly. Suffers from the ABV though. 220316

YG 201021. Pale golden color with a quiclyy collapsing head. Aroma is ripe apple, apple core. Flavor is ripe apple, sourness, apple core, sugar, yeast, grass, alcohol. Nice cider.

Can. It's a sparkling pale pinkish-orange cider, headless. Rather sulphury aroma, with some pear in the back. It's medium bodied and quite effervescent on the palate, mostly on the dry side, with a flavor driven by pear. A good dash of bakers yeast fermentation and some raspberry notes too. More raspberry in the finish. Too sulphury and yeasty this one, else it's quite decent. 211103

Bottle, 75cl. As X. It's a quite fizzy one, with a huge quickly collapsing head. Lightly foggy, golden in color. The aroma is dominated by ripe apple, with apple pie hints, apple core notes and a faint touch of alcohol and something spiced, foresty. It's full-bodied, warming and quite effervescent on the palate, with lots of apple flavors. Ripe apple, some apple cores and notes of apple jam. Some grassy hints too, and a touch of alcohol. Lasting finish. A quite pleasant one, lots of nice apple flavors. 211020

0,33 boks innkjøpt hos Hardangergutane og drukket i passasjersetet i bilen på vei til Voss: klar lys gylden med et lite rødskjær og kort skum. Beskjeden aroma. Pæresmak med et par bringebær i bakkant. Småsur, tynn og lite inspirerende.
