Flowerhorn Brewery was set up in the summer of 2019 by two friends, Andrew and Arran. Shortly after meeting through mutual friends and both sharing a love of all things beer Andrew landed a job in a brewery and when Arran finished university 9 months later he jumped straight in to the industry as well. Each with two years experience under their belt they began picturing and developing exactly what their ideal brewery would look like. They spent some money on a homebrew kit and started brewing in Arran’s parent’s garage.
Fast forward: Before we knew it around came our first birthday and we celebrated by picking up the keys to our brand new unit at the Bridge Studios. Currently we’re waiting for our bespoke 5bbl kit to be manufactured and delivered and in the meantime we’re continuing creating and innovating with new styles and flavours ready to serve to you in our brand new tap room before the end of the year.

Can from Beer 52 (some time ago) – drank at home. Pours a cloudy lemon yellow with a sizeable, frothy transient almost white head. There’s floral hops, citrus and lemon in the aroma, plus some malty hints. In the mouth it is quite sharp but with some underlying sweetness and a creamy texture. Flavour is lemon and grapefruit plus hints of tropical fruits and fairly high carbonation. Finish is a little sticky. It’s light nature makes it quite pleasant – a typical Beer 52 selection.

Third of a pint in a flight early evening on 19th July 2025. Hazed, dull old gold body, white crust. Mosaic hops doing their thing, citrus and floral flavours abound in this offering,

Tap at Cherry Reds, Birmingham. Bright red with a small white top. The cherries add a nice fruitiness and a mid-tart sourness. The vanilla and lactose gives a smooth sessionable quality and is not overdone to be too sickly or rich. Good balance and is tasty. Soft to fine carbonation. Good.

440ml can from The Drunk Monk, Wrexham. Pours pitch black with a beige ring of foam atop. Aroma is of a chocolatey persuasion. Full bodied, chocolatey, nice malt depth with a comforting roasty cuddle. Really like the artwork on these labels too, this one especially!

Can online from Stori, Bala. Pours hazy orange with a small head. Aroma: citrus, orange zest. Taste: light to moderate sweet & bitter. Medium body with soft carbonation. I feared this might be utter nonsense but was pleasantly surprised.
