Description

Bottle 375ml from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie consumed at home on the day between our birthdays, Tuesday 15th November 2016 Pours hazy light amber with a white head. Some caramel wafer on the nose, in fact it’s not unlike one of those speculoos wafers. Malt and fruit, but mostly malt really dominate here, a touch of warmth from the alcohol, a dab of spice. Great beer.

Slow gushing to monumental, reasonably stable, ultra-dense light-yellow head, fed by very lively carbonated pale copper beer. ?!? Raspberry aroma (initially), but also ’stale’ beer. Slight bitterhops, non-sweet malts. Bitter, from indifferent bittering hops. Again malts without sweetness, lightly toasted. Burnt aroma; wild herbs, pharmaceutical tisane. Hard waffles. Quite slick, faint hint @ alcohol, very spritzy carbonation. Aftertaste finally shows some of the integration, blending of flavours the main taste seems to miss. Too crude - which is a pity, seen that some of its features showed promise.

28/10/2016 @home - 37,5cl bottle from a trade with tderoeck.Hazy orange colour, very little foam, can?t call it a head. Nose is sweet malts, yeast. Taste? After the first sips I thought it was a mess. Nearly no carbonation. Than it seemed to become a nice collaboration of bitterhops with a somewhat hidden fruity taste(some orange, citrus) , some sweet malts, yeast. The bitterhops and yeast give it a nice dry bitter, spicy alcoholic ending, with stays for a very long time, for a very long time I mean. Could maybe benifit from a bit less yeast. But it?s at least not one in a long row of equals. Might consider buying it again.

Bottle from De Hopduvel. Hazy amber colour, white foam. Lots of carbonation. Citrussy taste, fruity sweetness, harsh bitter finish. Ok, nothing special.

Clear orange beer, huge solid creamy off-white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: fruity, lots of sweet malts, caramel, bit of ripe banana, some almonds, marzipan, cookies. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: nice fruity hop profile with peach, lychee and other tropical fruits, sweet malts, some caramel, bit sugary. Aftertaste: nice hoppy bitterness, some citrus, sweet malts, caramel, bitter cookies, hint of ripe banana, very yeasty finish.
