Chapter Brewing is smashing its way through the canon of craft, creating beers inspired by the innovation and playfulness of the written word. At the brewery we dive into experimental works as well as having well-thumbed and ever-present favourites in our Library.

Distributing nationally from our base in Sutton Weaver, you’ll find Chapter beers in cask, keg and small-pack with each lending their own unique characteristics to the brew. Hosting not only incredible artwork from local artist Boneface, Chapter’s labels offer a reading suggestion in lieu of a food pairing which allows the drinker, if so inclined, to read the texts that influenced the beer.

So all that remains is the eternal question: mark your page or squeeze in one more Chapter?

Bottle from Crosby Beer Shop, Crosby. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are coconut, roast malt, chocolate, caramel and has a nice bitter and sweet coconut finish.

Bottle from Crossby Beer Shop. Black with a lasting light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate and light hoppy - pine. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish. Oily. 110219

12/2/2019. Bottle from the Crosby Beer Shop, Merseyside. Pours dark brown with a small foamy tan coloured head. Aroma of dark chocolate, dark fruit, citrus, hops, dried fruit and roasted malt. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, average carbonation. Fruity, chocolate finish. Decent brew.

12/2/2019. Bottle from the Crosby Beer Shop, Merseyside. Pours dark brown with a bubbly/frothy tan coloured head. Aroma of chocolate, lactose, caramel and lime. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness and light tartness. Medium body, oily texture, average to soft carbonation. Chocolate lime pastry tart to finish. Good.

25/1/2019. Tap at 3at3, Ely. Pours dark amber bronze with a small just off-white head. Aroma of plummy fruits, dark fruits, malt, caramel and yeast. Medium sweetness with moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation.

Keg at the beer hawk. A clear reddy brown coloured pour with a fine light tan head. Aroma is aged fruit cake, tangy apple and dried fruits, hint of Belgian yeast. Flavour is composed of semi sweet and tangy, jammy fruits, cakey, malts, some light spices. Palate is medium sweet, jammy, airy carbonation. Ok.

Keg at Beer Hawk, Southbank, 18/12/18. Deep amber with a decent light beige covering. Nose is stewed fruits, light varnish, toffee, fruit pudding. Taste comprises fruit cake, brown sugar, dates, brown sugar, dried fruits, light booze, red apple. Medium plus body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light boost. Decent Dubbel ... good balance ... not too sweet.
