Bottle, 4.5%. Fruity aroma. Clear golden colour. Small white head. The flavour is also fruity. Has some CO2 flavour, a bit too high carbonation. Uninteresting.

Cloudy red pour - lively, effervescent pour - nose of cherry (skins, pits, flesh, stems, you name it), warming spices, leathery funk, light saltiness - dry, earthy, medium-tart, with just the tiniest bit of acetic character - a bit of red wine vinegar - gentle funkiness through the middle - some earthy cherry flesh and skins compliment a slight sweetness through the middle - ends bone dry, with light tannic flavor and vinegar - a very nice kriek.

Bottle. Aroma of pilsner malt, estery fruits, a bit of honey and citrus and some ginger. Rather bready and creamy for a tripel. Pilsner-like. Flavor of golden malt, citrus, apples, alcohol. Quite sweet; creamy, with a rather heavy body and somewhat harsh hop bitterness coming in at the finish. Alcohol too prominent. Also a bit too sweet for a tripel; bordering on syrupy. The spicing also seems a bit confused. Far behind the best in the style.

No fizzy stuff here, just pure raspberries. Beer is simple yet full of good fruit flavor. Tasty! 8-4-8-4-17

Prickly carbonation, big white head, but that is about the highlights. Little in way of flavor or complexity. Not particularly well balanced. Some orange note. Pass.

[9/8/09] Bag in box at Delirium Cafe in Brussels. Golden-bronze color with a very bubbly small white head. Aroma has some funky cheese, barnyard notes and citrus. Sour bretty flavor, but with very noticable residual sugars that disappear towards a dry, slightly astringent, finish with some lemon and grapefruit. Very lightly carbonated, but still haven’t really matured yet.

Very good white head over clear golden bere with coppery shine. Spicy nose, peppery, point of citrus. Again this peppery, mustardy flavour, going over in (old) wholemeal flour; honey retronasal. However, the beer is a bit lifeless, which is strange for a beer having lees for refermentation. Light to medium bodied. Nice flavours, pity about the feel. WHY doesn’t the label states where it is really brewed?? Certainly isn’t at Oud Beersel, which isn’t a working brewery, but the only address mentioned. -1 point
