Description
Brewing high-quality beer, without excessive alcohol content, is what it’s all about. The name Sonnen Hill comes from Sonne, which translates to sun and our family name Hill.

Sonnen Hill was founded in 2017 and we started brewing beer in 2018. For our first two years we were a very small operation and only distributed products to bars and restaurants across Ontario. In 2020, we opened our bottle shop in the height of the pandemic and now sometimes send beer to other provinces across Canada and countries in Europe and Asia. We are family-owned and -operated and are a small team of passionate individuals who work very hard to produce the quality products that we do.

Third, on tap at Brownhill & Co. A big white head slowly diminishing over a clear pale golden body, lacing rings down the glass. Fresh smell of grass and slightly sweet grainy malts. Smooth taste profile of herbal hop, minerals, and bread-like malts. Nice, mid-dry bitterness to the finish. Likable pilsner. (Leeds 05.07.2022).

375ml bottle. Little Leeds. Soft haze on a pale orange gold. Thin but sturdy white foam. Nose has lemony lacto. Wheat. Lemon rind. Touch of bretty funk. New oak. Taste is sharp and tart. A tad dry on the palate with a lick of wheaty sweetness. Clean enough on the palate but there’s a little bit of an off flavour. Something rubbery. Dry tart finish.

The aroma is bright, fresh, fragrant, vanilla oak, custard creams, lovely floral vibes, daisies, summer meadow, mellow funk, damp grass, lemon sherbet, refreshers, splash of white wine and gooseberry. The taste is crisp as, dry, puckering, zingy, light acidity, lemon sherbet, gooseberry, white grape, refreshers, fizzy cola bottles, vinous, straw, hay, grass, funk, dry oak, hint of peppery spice more fresh floral accents and a touch of minerality with a firm dry oak finish.
