Purs unclear yellowblonde, good white head .Smell is strong on the yeast. Taste is bitter, bit of grains, some very mild spice undertone, or are it special malts? yeasty, as expected. high carbo, but not overly extreme. OK

Another new micro brewery in the Antwerp region, bottle from Frui Vita. Very thick and frothy, thickly ’paper lacing’, egg-white, dense head over a hazy golden blonde beer with somewhat ochre hue. Aroma of banana-flavored bubblegum (isoamylacetate all around), kiwi, lots of pineapple, lime peel, honey, warm apple cake, gooseberry, vanilla ice cream, grass, peach, dry earth, limoncello, sugarloaf, some vague mouldy lemon. Crisp, fruity onset, lots of banana, peach and pineapple with a fresh, almost lemon peel-like sourishness underneath, strong carbo (even a bit overcarbonated - but then again, this is not really disastrous in a Belgian blonde), supple, quite full body, pleasant honeyish and lightly bready malt sweetness, fruity esters retronasally along with floral hop aromas, translated in the taste as a light but effective, grassy, somewhat herbal bitterishness; malt sweetness remains. This has no serious off-flavours, is technically perfectly executed and delivers what it promises: in all, a very decent Belgian blonde compared with many others (and there are many others in this style, to say the least). I do wonder, however, what it adds to the Belgian beer culture: just because there are so many other similar banana-ridden, overcarbonated Belgian ’outdoors café’ blondes, I don’t see the point in this. But since this is technically more than correct, I tend to reward with a higher score than I would normally give and will not judge it too harshly: Struise and Alvinne also started off with fairly stereotypical Belgian blondes years ago, so who knows what may come out of this brewery within a few years - if they have the inspiration and devotion to achieve more than this commercially rewarding but otherwise rather uninteresting beer, that is.

330 ml. bottle sampled @ 20ste Zomerbierfestival. Apparently made with coriander, orange peel & black pepper. Pours murky orange amber with a collapsing white head. Nose is overly yeast, milky yeast, sugar & overly sweet,… Taste is overly yeasty, spices, coriander, sugar, orange peel, not really getting pepper, yeast, bread,… Overly yeasty body,… Most of it is in lost in an excess of milky & lightly bread yeast. Meh.

330 ml. bottle sampled @ 20ste Zomerbierfestival. Pale citrus, golden with a small white head. Nose is oddly chemical, reminiscent of insecticide, esters, malts,… Taste is fizzy, esters, chemical, spices, malts, plastic, some insecticide,… Fizzy & seemingly artificial body,… Not overly convinced, not a fan of this one.
