Black with lasting thin head. Aroma and flavour are very sweet with loads of dried fruits especially prunes. Also dark chocolate. More of a strong dark ale than stout

bottle@home. Blond/gold, nice white head. Nose: citrus, flowers, some sweetness. Very smooth and balanced (dry/bitter/sweet) in taste. Finish with plesant hops. I like it!

Pours hazy black with a lasting, small, foamy, beige head. Aroma of prune, raisin, wood, toast, mocha, liquorice, clove, brandy. Taste is light to medium malty sweet, quite some dark fruits, prune & raisin, herbal black tea-like bitterness with a hint of toast, subtle coffee, nuts & dark chocolate. Dry, toasty, herbal hoppy finish, more dark fruit, chocolate, some spicy liquorice & clove, with warming brandy-like alcohol. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Quite Belgian interpretation, enjoyable.

Bottle picked up from Dranken Vande Woude, Pervijze-Diksmuide and consumed at Camping Alpino, Lake Garda, Italy, Monday 30th September 2019. Pours black, soft, very Belgian in style, sweet but very agreeable. As with many Belgian beers tastes very easy to drink.

24/VI/18 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent), shared @ my godchild's birthday weekend, the Abeels' place - BB: see bottle, nothing on bottle though, nor on the cap (2018-801)
Clear dark brown to black beer, creamy beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. aroma: some chlorine, soft roast, some milk chocolate, bit yeasty, some banana, typical Belgian yeast signature. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body, creamy texture. Taste: rather sweet start, alcohol, some chlorine, CO2, some more alcohol, roasted, bitter notes, cocoa powder. Aftertaste: dead yeast, bitter hops, quite some chocolate, caramel, pretty sweet finish.

Pours black , clear ( reddish brown shine when put to light ) small tanned head that fades instantly. Smell is tad sweet, roasty, bit 'plastic' and ashy. Common factors in a Belgian Imperial Stout. Taste is full, sharp, bitter, very roasty, ashy aspects, dark chocolate. Bit thin in body, not very complex. Typical Belgian style Imperial stout. OK beer, for sure, but not the kind of things I enjoy in an imperial stout. Fairly hot due to the alcohol as well. Bit bitter ending, roasty.
