Bottled. Clear dark brown. Strong cocoa aroma. Dryish and fairly soft with some tobacco and chocolate. Medium bodied. Diminated by intense cocoa flavour all the way through to the tarry finish. Interesting and tasty, although perhaps not very complex.

Bottled. Dark ruby, almost opaque black, small tan head. Chocolaty and toasted aroma. Very chocolaty porter, aftertaste has lots of chocolate too. Not too sweet, robust and balanced.

(Cask at GBBF, London, 3 Aug) Colour is pitch black with a small dark brown foamy head. Nose is roasted with rich aromas of black coffee and dark chocolate, hints of juniper berries. Taste is roasted with notes of dark bitter chocolate, coffee, juniper berries, blueberries and peat smoke. Dry as sand-paper with a nice citrussy hop finish. Absolutely brilliant.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a hazy, pilsener golden with an off-white head. Fresh, citrusy and very hoppy nose. Medium-bodied, lots of malt and a distinct alcoholic touch. Rather unusual smoked edge to it. Very dry and very bitter hoppiness in the finish. 160806

Black with a brown, lasting head. Intense aroma of dark malts, licorice, chocolate and molasses. Very sweet, still licorice and molasses, only a hint of bitterness in the finish. Very full and creamy mouthfeel.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 06. Copper/russet colour with no head. Bit of toffee, some hop which is a bit earthy. Not keen on this and even had a bit of rubber.

Brown with a quickly disappearing head. Toffee aroma with a bit of nuttiness some wood and port and some strange milk(?) note. Rich sweet malt flavour with some acidity and a hint of hops at the end.
