16oz can from the brewery. Less than a week from canning date. Bready, light, effervescent. Easy drinking, quite refreshing. Quite delicate on the palate, really clean and easy drinking, but also has some nice malt undertone. World Class Helles, pretzely melanoidan touches? Great stuff, really impressive execution.

Tap at Goldfinger. Steady, creamy head. Tan-brown body, hints of amber perhaps. Really nice example of the styles, deep malt nuances, but clean and drinkable too. Really true to style, with a soft pillowy body from the sidepour. World Class.

Tap at Goldfinger. 8 dollar half liter. Smells official and awesome. Smoke centered all the way, true to style. Filtered. Good, but unfortunate that it has to cost close to ten dollars a pint after tax and tip. Hopefully they put this is six-packs, as bar price is untenable for me.

Rating #3900! Draft at Goldfinger. Tall straight glass shows a puffy head over an amber beer body. That Bamberg smoked ham smell you either love or hate. Taste has the initial smoke note, but there's also malt working its way in to the palate. As a fresh beer, there's a tinge of hop bitterness on the edge that might get wiped out with an smoked beer sitis in a can or bottle for longer that a week. Finish is pretty malty and satisfying.

On tap at Goldfinger. Day AFTER their Oktoberfest. Bright gold color with a cushy layer of foam. The usual solid beer smell with no distraction from adjuncts. Solid German lager taste: malty with a peppery Noble hop prickle on the tongue. A little lighter in abv than the MΓ€rzen Oktoberfest style, but it's still nice and hearty for the cool weather that's finally come in.

Can from Beer On the Wall Arlington Heights. Pours a clear copper with a full two fingers of beige head that dissipates. Lovely bready malt aromas with wildflower honey and caramel standing out. More of the same on the palate. Nice toasted caramel notes. Smooth and refreshing. Light pepper that lingers. Great stuff.

Can from Beer On the Wall in Arlington Heights. Pours a clear straw gold with a pillowy head of white foam that lingers. Lovely bready malt aromas with some light fruit-like notes as it warms. More of the same on the pallet. Super crushable with a faint earthy bitterness towards the end. Soft mouthfeel. Excellent.

Draft at Goldfinger's 2nd Lagerversary. Golden color like an old-time Hamm's, thin layer of foam. Smell is malty with kiss of hops and a slight bit of sweetness. Solid version of your basic beer, but noticeably maltier, and a balanced bitterness from hops. Guessing they're going with traditional German style hops. Heartier than the basic bowling beers it tries to emulate, and that's a good thing. Crisp, as they say. This uses boiled corn grits, while the Mexican lager uses flaked maize.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber with a copper hue and a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has light bread and grains with a hint of grass underlying. Flavor has a good amount of bread with a bit of grain and a hint of grass in the finish.
