Description
Geert Demuynck started in 1981 with the national Belgian broadcaster BRT. As a non-beer drinker, he and his colleagues went to the Koekoek in Asse where they served a flat beer (lambic) from a wooden barrel. The interest in lambic, Oude Geuze (Gueuze), Oude Kriek and derivatives was a fact. A lot of research was done, many lambic breweries were visited and participated in events.
Things picked up speed around 2006 and soon after that the guiding started.

2021 was the year when everything got even more intense. Publitasting started. In addition to his own activities, Geert was also active at Brouwerij Timmermans, Devillé and Angerik and a collaboration was started with Brouwerij Eylenbosch, which became the main activity. With its own Stekerij Publitasting, it is the intention to only develop products and make limited editions.

Bottle. Color: Slightly hazy golden, long lasting dense white head. Aroma: Subtle tart, funky, fruity notes, hay. Taste: Over moderate to medium tart, oak wood, hay, subtle rural funk. Fruity citrus and tart berries. Very light hints of Whiskey. I believe I get some coastral Whiskey hints at the very end of the finish, but strongly doubt whether I got that if I wouldn't know... Tartness is overwhelming a bit. Vinegar notes. Edit: Getting better balanced when opening up after some time standing. Smooth, slightly foamy mouthfeel.

Nice white head, a bit of carbonation. Proper tart, sour, fruity, zesty citrus, rhubarb, fruity sweetness with a dry woody finish. Medium acidity but fairly smooth, could use some funk but very nice.

Decent geuze... And that's about it, not the hype worthy ... You can buy for the same price 2 or 3 far better geuzes.

GUSHER ALERT!
Cloudy orange blond beer, creamy off-white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: dry, very woody, earthy, dusty, cheesy, pretty weird. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: herbal, bitter, dry, grassy, a bit woody, slightly fruity. Aftertaste: dry, a little bitter, sourish, earthy, very lemony, some vinegar notes. Can’t say it’s really bad, but it’s not very good either.

Bottle at Gent tasting. Gusher! Hazy orange color, average sized off-white head. Aroma and flavor are sour, sourish fruit. Fruit peel sourness as well. Fruitpeel bitters. A bit too sour I'd say, sour-bitter.

Bottle shared at Gent tasting. Clear orangy amber color, small white head. Smell and taste are a really pleasant mix of fruit, light sourness, fruity sour. A slight touch of sweetness. Hars to describe but a very pleasant mix. Don't specifically get star anise but the beer is lovely.

Bottle at Gent tasting, present for the first time since ages! Unclear yellow to orange color, small white head. Smell and taste are both basil and sourness. Can't really describe it other that this way. Don't get much more. Quite nice though.
