Description
Geert Demuynck started in 1981 with the national Belgian broadcaster BRT. As a non-beer drinker, he and his colleagues went to the Koekoek in Asse where they served a flat beer (lambic) from a wooden barrel. The interest in lambic, Oude Geuze (Gueuze), Oude Kriek and derivatives was a fact. A lot of research was done, many lambic breweries were visited and participated in events.
Things picked up speed around 2006 and soon after that the guiding started.

2021 was the year when everything got even more intense. Publitasting started. In addition to his own activities, Geert was also active at Brouwerij Timmermans, Devillé and Angerik and a collaboration was started with Brouwerij Eylenbosch, which became the main activity. With its own Stekerij Publitasting, it is the intention to only develop products and make limited editions.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy dark pinkish red with a medium off-white head. Aroma has a wonderfully complex barnyard funk, fairly gentle floral notes from the hibiscus, and a touch of leather. Flavour follows through, with a complex barnyard funk, a fantastic hibiscus infusion, leather, oak, and some earthiness. Fantastic infusion of the hibiscus and wonderful funk. Lovely.

Purplish-red. Opaque. There's a nice berry accent on the aroma. It seems a bit hoppy on the palate, with berry notes, which I imagine are hibiscus. The base lambic is earthy, some oaky notes. Pretty good. Not a ton of complexity but it's good.

Poured from 750mL bottle (2024 vintage; bb 31/12/2028). Deep purple-ish red with small off white head. Nice aroma, earthy with feint hibiscus. Taste of hibiscus, feintly vinous-like, subdued, but nice complexity.

750mL bottle. Pours a cloudy deep ruby with an off-white head. Old wood, leather on the nose, great funk complexity finished with a bright flfloral character on the nose. Flavour has a nice musty character, plenty of mildew, old wood. The hibiscus adds a very nice floral character to this. Excellent.

750mL bottle, pours a deep dark burgundy with a small off-white head. Aroma has pungent apple core, huge blueberries, and some buried funk. Flavour is full of intense, rotting apple core, wood glue, gentle funk, and a touch of acidic blueberries. This is pretty rough—so much rotting apple core and wood glue. This isn’t up to speed compared to usual Publitasting lambics. Not egregious, but definitely very far from a top-tier lambic.

Hazy purple. Fresh berry character, lots of acidity. The berry character is fairly strong, and the apple note is cidery and is messy, incongruous, in terms of the clash between berry and apple here.
