Das Wort Gaišais hat nichts mit "geil" oder "Schaiß" zu tun, sondern ist das lettische Wort für "hell". Und genau das haben wir hier: Ein typisches Helles, das trotz der eher kleinen Brauerei, aus der es kommt, sehr (mir zu sehr) wie das gemeine Industriebier schmeckt. Aber wenn man auf der Suche nach einem einfachen Bier ist, dann kann man gerne zugreifen.

Bottled@HBF2016. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is bready, mildly rubbery along with some rice and mild grains. Flavour is wooden, grassy, grainy and mildly earthy.

HBF 2016. Poured straw color, thin white head. Grains, straw, not much else in aroma. Grains in flavor. Drinkable, albeit "raw" stuff.

Draft. Yellow-gold color with white foam. Aroma: malty, a bit grassy and spicy hops. Taste: malt, yeast, grain, a bit grassy hop bitterness.

Bottle. Pours golden with whiteish head. The head doesn’t stay. Aroma is maize, popcorn, grains, nastiness. Flavor is sweet, popcorn, malt. Overall: bad. Why the hell is this rated so highly?!

Bottle shared at a tasting at Stas’s place. Thanks mom for this bottle. Clear copper-amber with an off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, a bready note and a faint vegetal hint. Sweetish flavor with malt, mild caramel, light toastiness and a mildly drier finish. Light to medium-bodied.

Fra kran på Alus Stacija, Riga 9 Okt 13 sammen med gode kollegaer. Gyldenbrun. Uklar. Lavt skum. Forsiktig karamellaroma. Smaken blir vassen med et preg av malt & papp.

50cl bottle from Riga International Airport. Pours clear golden with a finger thick, but pretty fast dissipating white head. Moderate fruity and malty aroma with notes of honey. Moderate sweet with rather nice fruitiness and a light bitterness tingling in the finish. Rather nice for being a pale lager.
