Description
Jorre Vanhemmens is a young brewer from Belgium. When he was 16, he wrote a school paper about beer. 10 years later, he’s Head Brewer at Alvinne Brewery, world-famous for its excellent sour beers. In 2018 he’s launching a beer and mead line of his own special recipes created with lots of love and dedication under the name De Mederie.

Clear to little cloudy pale yellow to light beige mead. Aroma: lots of pears, bit yeasty, fruity touch, some honey, weird. MF: no carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of pears, a bitter touch, alcohol, honey, sugary yet a bit dry as well. Aftertaste: bitter, pears, some pear skin, fruity, alcohol, good stuff.

Clear bright red ruby beer, no head. Aroma: very floral, juicy, tropical fruits, more fruit, lots of oranges, spicy touch. MF: medium to full body. Taste: lots of alcohol, lots of orange peel, fruity, more alcohol, pretty bitter, oranges, lovely, juicy. Aftertaste: orange peel, pretty bitter, some tannins, spicy touch, more tannins.

Clear bright ruby red mead, adhesive, leaving some tears when swirling around in the glass. Aroma: tannins, berries, sourish impression, sweet, honey, sugary, more honey. MF: medium to full body. Taste: sweet, bit juicy, berries, hint of vanilla, sugary, honey, some alcohol, little bitter, alcohol burn. Aftertaste: soft bitterness, juicy, some tannins, hint of vanilla, bit sourish, lovely stuff, some vanilla, really like it!

Clear deep ruby red mead, adhesive, leaving some tears when swirling around in the glass. Aroma: lots of alcohol, tannins, bitter impression, dry dusty touch, fruity notes. MF: no carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet start, alcohol, sugary, pretty bitter, fruity, juicy, very nice, sugary. Aftertaste: sweet, very fruity, juicy, soft bitterness, lovely mead!

Clear deep ruby red mead, no head. Aroma: lots of berries, pretty funky, yeast touch. MF: no carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet and sugary start, fruity, lots of berry jam, bit acidic, sugary, honey notes. Aftertaste: nice acidity, lots of berry jam, honey, bit oxidized, lemony touch, more berries and honey, good one!

Clear pale yellow mead, no head. Aroma: pears, bit fruity, some honey, smells very nice! MF: no carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet start, lots of honey, some vanilla, bit fruity, sugary, quite some alcohol, nice. Aftertaste: fruity, pears, bit oxidized, lots of alcohol, decent stuff.
